“I had an open conversation with the Portuguese Minister of Defense Carlos Pires. He spoke in detail about our initiatives and needs. We discussed our priorities for cooperation within the IT coalition. The deputy minister explained our goals and the goal we need to achieve in the short term – a stable IT infrastructure of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine presented its development.” he wrote.
He invited Portugal to join the Drone Coalition and emphasized the critical need for drone production and the creation of unique software for them.
“We agreed to continue the dialogue on cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, in particular on the exchange of knowledge and experience between our experts. I am grateful to Portugal and personally to Carlos Pires for the continued support of Ukraine and the expansion of our cooperation in the defense sector.” added Chernogorenko.
As Ukrinform reported, in December 2023, Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov and Portuguese Minister of National Defense Helena Carreiras discussed the training of Ukrainian technical and support personnel for F16 fighter jets.
