A few weeks ago, Samsung launched the Galaxy S24. But not all users want/need or can pay the premium price. Fortunately, the South Korean company also comfortably caters to the mid-range with the Galaxy ‘A’ series. And here we come to the new models that should be available on the international market in April.
Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G
Samsung opted for general design of the S24 for their new mid-range mobile phones. As we told you, they feature a chassis with less rounded corners than the A54 and A34 it replaces. We also have a completely smooth back and three camera sensors placed vertically and independently next to the LED flash.
Both models have the same screen, one 6.6 inch Super AMOLED diagonal, with a native Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. They also have the same battery, with fast charging and a capacity of 5,000 mAh. The chipset used was not mentioned, although unofficial media talk about an Exynos 1480 for the Galaxy A55 5G and an Exynos 1380 for the A35.
The safety has been significantly improved with the inclusion of the Knox Vault feature, which appears for the first time on A-series phones. This hardware system protects sensitive data on devices by creating a secure environment isolated from the main system.
The differences between the models are camera set, both with triple sensors on the back, but with better optics in the A55: 12MP F2.2 ultra-wide camera + 50MP F1.8 main camera, AF, OIS and 5MP F2.4 macro camera. The selfie camera is 32MP F2.2 and 13MP F2.2 on both models.
Versions and prices
Samsung’s new mid-range will come with the latest version of its own Android 14-based One UI 6.1 pre-installed, but won’t have Galaxy AI features like the S24. The A55 will be sold in configurations of 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage capacity, while the A35 will be sold with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. No official pricing has been provided, but European retailers say they will launch 380 euros for the basic version A35.
