The research department of the Military Technical Institute of the Land Forces of the Czech Republic conducted the first range tests of the prototype of the 155-mm Morana self-propelled artillery installation.

In the first phase of the tests, it was evaluated how the Morana chassis could overcome obstacles with heights of 20 cm, 40 cm, 60 cm, 80 cm, 100 and 120 cm. Width from 50 to 300 cm The platform of the Morana ACS is the Tatra T815 armored chassis, the basis of the development is the Dita self-propelled gun.

The Morana self-propelled artillery installation is armored. The armor is resistant to impacts from small arms and artillery shell fragments. It can withstand hits from 7.62×39 mm armor-piercing ammunition from a distance of 30 meters and mine explosions equivalent to 6 kg of TNT. The cabin is insulated and equipped with an NBC filtration system.

The Morana self-propelled gun is equipped with a 155 mm L52 artillery gun manufactured by ZTS Special. The gun is equipped with a fully automatic ammunition loading system. The maximum firing range is 41.5 km. Maximum rate of fire is 6 rounds per minute. The ammunition used is 45 bullets.

The self-propelled gun is capable of firing with direct guidance at a range of up to 5 km. The possibility of direct fire is often used for self-defense. ACS layout: a cabin for the crew of 3 people is located in the forward part of the fuselage, the power plant is in the middle of the fuselage and the tower is in the aft part.
