If you’re up to date in the emulation world, you’ll know that March is a complicated month. Just a few days ago, Nintendo managed to kill off two of the most popular Switch and 3DS emulators: Yuzu and Citra. These offers have accumulated thousands and thousands of downloads and now rest in peace.

Weeks later, we’re seeing movement again in the Google app store. Some of the most popular emulators have been removed after Citra disappeared from the Play Store. Others, like DraStic, went completely free and the scene became more suspicious than ever.

Emulators keep disappearing from Android

Just a week ago you could download AetherSX2 from the Play Store. best emulator for ps2 Which we can use on Android. It’s a great benchmark to check how a phone’s GPU performs. This is something that is no longer possible to do today. AetherSX2 disappeared from the map along with other emulators like Pizza Boy.

Pizza Boy GBA/GBC was another of the most popular GameBoy Advance and GameBoy Color emulators. They have also been removed from the Play Store From one day to the next. Since these APKs are not files downloaded from the Play Store, they can always be downloaded from other repositories at the user’s responsibility.

DraStic, which was a paid emulator until a few hours ago, has become free, probably to avoid being accused of profiting from downloading an emulation product.

Some of the most popular emulators are still alive on the Play Store (for now)

The massacre is not complete, some of the giants are still alive: PPSSPP (PSP), Dolphin Emulator (GameCube and Wii) or MyBoy! (GameBoy) is still available on the Google App Store. Everything indicates that the disappearance of Citra and Yuzu prompted some developers who decided to wipe their products off the map.

Although emulation has been suggested as an alternative to playing backups, debate continues. The copyright-infringing downloading scene is still alive, and giants like Nintendo are after it Without fear of million dollar lawsuits.
