Motorola has announced the launch of the 2024 Moto G, the mid-range smartphones that have usually been best sellers from a company owned by Lenovo. Although the series was actually released in January with G Play, the company is now announcing two more models that continue to excel in their feature-price ratio.
Moto G 5G It will be a transitional version of the series and is a step up from what we saw in G Play. Under the well-known design line, with a polycarbonate chassis and quite angular corners, Motorola bets on a large screen, multi-touch IPS 6.6 inches diagonal.
Its 1612 x 720 pixel resolution isn’t all that interesting, but the refresh rate is 120 Hz. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen1 SoC with an octa-core CPU (2 Cortex-A78 at 2.0 GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 at 1.8 GHz) and Adreno 619 GPU. It is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.
Its camera system includes a main camera with two sensors (50 MP and 2 MP) and an 8 MP selfie camera. The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh with 18-watt fast charging. It supports microSD cards with a capacity of up to 1 Tbyte. With Android 14, the base 2024 Moto G has an official price 199 dollars.
Moto G Power 5G It is the second model introduced and here Motorola raises the level compared to the previous model in several components, starting with the display. 6.7 inches, its native resolution 2400 x 1280 pixels and its refresh rate of 120 Hz The manufacturer chooses the MediaTek Dimension 7020 chipset and twice the memory (8 GB) compared to the basic model.
The storage capacity is the same, 128 Gbytes, expandable by up to 1 Tbyte using a microSD card. The cameras have also been improved with a dual 50MP sensor and optical image stabilization and an 8MP macro. The front camera also gets a 16MP sensor upgrade.
The battery has the same capacity, 5000 mAh, but with a better fast charging system, 30 W wired and 15 W wireless charging. It pre-installs Android 14 with the usual almost “clean” layer of the Google system and has an official price 299 dollars.
