When we’re at a loss for words, we can count on the creativity of GIFs. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been that easy with Slack until today. That’s changing now that Slack is adding a GIF picker that doesn’t require you to leave the app. The GIF picker is powered by Tenor and will be visible to every user by the end of next month, according to Slack.
Sending a GIF via Slack required endless scrolling through the Giphy extension or copying and pasting a GIF onto an external website. Fortunately, that is now changing. Slack recently added a new GIF picker that allows you to choose from multiple GIF options without leaving the app. This GIF selection was powered by Tenor, Google’s GIF search engine, which includes millions of GIFs.
From now on, choosing a GIF will be as easy as choosing an emoji in Slack. You can select the new GIF tab using the emoji icon or click the + icon to open the GIF picker. The GIF picker won’t be visible to everyone immediately, but Slack has announced that all users will get access by the end of the month.
