The Ministry of Digital Transformation opens the “Actions” code for IT specialists from other countries who can use the best solutions to create analogues of the Ukrainian application.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the press service of the ministry.
“We are scaling digitalization and sharing the experience of creating “Action” with the whole world. Now countries interested in the development of Ukraine’s digital transformation will be able to learn the logic of the application and use the code to create government services based on it.” The statement is included.
Open Source is software whose source code is publicly available. Contains mobile application code (frontend and backend); logic, documentation and services to help understand how the platform works; license to use.
In addition to the common code of the server and mobile part of the application, the “Driver’s License” document and the “Criminal record” service have been added as examples of the logic of the application in working with data. This is the first step, more documents and services will be available in the future.
The Ministry emphasizes that IT specialists can use the best solutions to create analogues of “Diya” and their own applications based on Open Source. To do this you will need to join the public license.
The Ministry of Statistics emphasizes that the security of Ukrainian data remains a priority.
“The code does not have access to the records. If you want to test the working logic of the “Action”, fictitious users with synthetic data have been loaded into the test environment for this purpose,” the press service said.
As reported, the government adopted a decision that allows unlocking the code of the “Action” application.
Open source is a popular global application. European covid certificates were developed with this approach. And now the European EUDI digital identity wallet is being created. Governments and technology companies around the world also use Open Source like Android and Linux.
