After a successful test phase, Copilot Security is ready for the big launch. The use of the security chatbot is billed per hour.

Microsoft opened early access to it at the end of 2023 Copilot for safety and on April 1, the chatbot will be available to the general public, the company confirmed in a blog. This version of Copilot is specifically designed to support security teams. You can have AI perform analysis on security data and ask additional questions in natural language to identify unknown threats faster.

The early access phase has already shown that security teams see a benefit in an AI assistant, at least according to Microsoft. Security teams reported that with Copilot they were able to work 22 percent faster and accuracy across all tasks increased by seven percent. 97 percent of those who have already tried Copilot for Security would like to continue using the tool.

New function

To further highlight the big launch, Microsoft is announcing the following new features for Copilot for Security:

• Custom prompts;
• Deeper integration with business activities;
• Process and respond to prompts in eight different languages. The user interface supports 25 languages.
• Integrations with third party services;
• Link to Microsoft Defender External Attack Surface Management;
• Microsoft Entra audit logs and diagnostic logs;
• Usage reports on how your teams use Copilot.

Pay per hour

Microsoft also provides additional information about the cost of Copilot for Security. These are calculated very differently than other Copilot subscription formulas, where you pay a fixed amount of thirty dollars per month per connected user. With Copilot for Security, you only pay when you actually use the chatbot: Microsoft charges four dollars per hour. Microsoft says it wants to lower the barrier to entry for Copilot for Security.

The company itself could also use some help with its security. Microsoft has been fighting for several months with Russian hackers who have hijacked email accounts. It is also difficult to get unwanted visitors out.
