Today’s presentation of this new ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra It is another reminder of how interesting the first months of the year tend to be, since it is the time that the vast majority of manufacturers, especially those who bet on the Snapdragon 8 SoC, have chosen to present their top-of-the-range proposals for the year. So, at this time of renewal of the catalog, we find the most interesting proposals.
This is undoubtedly the case with this ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra, and although when we talk about ASUS, the first thing that usually comes to mind is the computer ecosystem, its proposition in the smartphone market is already long. – lived and all this time has proven its ability to offer more than remarkable facilitieswhich also tend to offer an excellent balance in the equation of quality and price, even more so if we can opt for a special offer such as this technology for the launch.
In this case, in addition, and as we develop further, we face quite a significant change compared to its predecessors, like the Zenfone 10 we tested last year. And we find ourselves with a jump of about an inch, as we went from 5.9 to 6.78 for the model introduced today. An increase that will undoubtedly be great news for users (including me) who prefer devices with a screen size of around 6.7 inches.

We will start, as already indicated, with the most notable change, which is the size of its screen (and subsequently, of course, the device). So we find a AMOLED panel manufactured by Samsung and which is undoubtedly one of the most striking points of the phone. Its size is 6.78 inches with an aspect ratio of 20:9which means a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels.
His list of virtues is extensive. For starters, it’s an LTPO panel, which translates into a dynamic refresh rate that can oscillate between 1 and 120 Hzwith a special game mode that can be set up to 144 hertz. At the opposite extreme, it also has a function always on, in which it drops to one hertz. We are also talking about an extremely bright panel, with Typical brightness of 1600 nits which can rise up to 2500 peak nitsensuring excellent viewing even in bright outdoor environments.
No less remarkable is its capacity in terms of color representation, as it exceeds 100% of the three reference color spaces. More precisely, we are talking about 107.37% DCI-P3, 145.65% sRGB and 103.16% NTSC. This, combined with its brightness, means that we are talking about an HDR10 screen compatible with Amazon HDR and YouTube HDR, among others. And to keep it protected, it’s protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Already inside, and as I also mentioned at the beginning, we see that this ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra is directed SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the top of Qualcomm’s offering for this generation and which, in addition to great performance, is also optimized for artificial intelligence, which ASUS uses in this device, as we’ll see later. The integrated one accompanies 12 or 16 gigabytes of LPDDR5X memory and 256 or 512 gigabytes of UFS4 storage. The available configurations, whose prices we will see later, are 12/256GB and 16/512GB.
When it comes to connectivity, we find what we would expect at the top of the range of the latest generation, with a surprise that will please many (including me). In the wireless part, we have dual 5G, WiFi 7 (802.11be), Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and compatibility with major global positioning networks (GPS, Glonass, Galileo, BeiDou QZSS(L1/L5) and NavIC). And when we go to the physical connectors, we find the expected multifunctional USB-C, but, and this was the surprise I mentioned earlier, also with an audio minijack.
The autonomy of the ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra is kept generous 5,550 mAh battery, again more than a noticeable jump compared to its predecessor, which also improves its maximum fast charging speed, which rises to 65 watts in this generation. And for those who prefer wireless charging, it will be up to 15 watts (Qi 1.3).
As for the main camera, without being the top of the range of this generation, which stands out the most in this sense, it offers a more than decent configuration and that in conjunction with various AI-based featuresit is capable of providing images and videos of more than remarkable quality.
The main camera is made up of three elements, led by a wide-angle lens based on the ever-reliable Sony IMX890 50 megapixels which integrates a 6-axis hybrid gimbal stabilizer. It is accompanied by a 32-megapixel 3x telephoto lens that, combined with AI functions, can provide x10 magnification without losing sharpness, and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field of view.
For front-facing shots, the ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra integrates a 32-megapixel camera behind the perforation in the upper center of the screen, which functions as a wide-angle with a 90-degree field of view.
On-device AI will play a key role in the current generation and at least the next. And the truth is that, in fact, this technology has been present in the photographic functions for some time, but recently it has made a leap to other multiple functions of the device, and ASUS did not want to be left behind in this regard. So these are the main AI-based non-photographic features found in the ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra (beta features will come to the device in a future system update):
