Sixty days and a few hours With the publication of this news, we are separated from the start of Google I/O 2024, an event focused mainly on developers, but as we have seen in other technological meetings of this type, in recent years it also becomes the platform chosen by the organizing company to present some announcements and previews of general interest. And in this particular case, so much so that we can consider Google I/O as the most important event of the year for the search engine.

The most recent example of this is of course Google I/O 2023, a meeting where the company focused (and how) on artificial intelligence, but which was also the moment the company chose to present its Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet and Pixel 7a. except beta 2 of Android 14. The editions from previous years were also interesting, but no doubt takes last year’s cakebecause the amount and interest of the announcements that took place was simply overwhelming.

As expected, the company has only announced it so far Google I/O 2024 will begin on May 14, although as is tradition, the date was hidden behind the game during the first hours of the event’s website release. Now that many users have completed this test, it is still possible to do it if we wish, but direct access to the information and registration page is also offered.

Lists of meetings and other activities are not published at this time which will take place on the days of the meeting, although the site is already encouraging those interested to register in some of the related communities, since these will also hold some events during Google I/O 2024. However, we hope that the rest of the related information will be released in a few weeks, so developers have time to organize and register for interesting sessions.

In terms of other global announcements, we expect the announcement of a new beta version of Android 15 (probably beta 2) of Android 15, the launch of the Google Pixel 8a, and also the arrival of the second generation of the Pixel Tablet, if the company has chosen an annual refresh cycle. However, we don’t expect, as we told you on Wednesday, that this will be the right time to introduce the second generation of its foldable smartphone.
