The judge made his decision this Friday Georgia, that the case is against the former president Donald Trump may continue if the responsible prosecutor Fani Willis or special prosecutor Nathan Wadewith whom she had an intimate relationship, refuse the process.

District Judge Fulton, Scott McAffee determined that the “appearance of inappropriate behavior” between them would result in either Willis or Wade, whom she appointed to lead the process, having to recuse themselves.

That kind of in-between opportunity would allow Willis to proceed with the trial if Wade refuses, thus preventing Trump’s defense plans to completely shut down prosecutors.

Trump and several of his co-defendants in the election interference case are trying to have Willis disqualified and criminal charges dismissed, arguing that Willis’ affair with Wade, the special prosecutor appointed to the case, constitutes a conflict of interest.

The former president’s legal team claims Willis benefited financially from the relationship and may have lied to the court, charges Willis denies.

The Georgia case is one of four criminal cases Trump faces in his attempt to unseat Biden. He also faces federal charges for trying to reverse his election defeat and is due to stand trial in NY later this month on charges related to money he paid a porn star to keep quiet.

Trump has denied wrongdoing in all four cases and says they are all attempts to prevent him from becoming president again.
