PS5 Pro specs are real and will arrive in late 2024

Yesterday we shared with you a special dedicated to checking an important leak about the PS5 Pro. In this article, we found out that the said console will have Spectral Super Resolution, technology smart scaling which will be supported by hardware designed for AI whose maximum theoretical performance will be 300 TOPsshort for “trillions of (Anglo-Saxon) operations per second.”

We were also able to view some important details about its possible specifications which generally gave us a fairly accurate idea of the performance we can expect from the PS5 Pro. All this information was very interesting, but we were not sure what level of credence we should give it, since it came from a source that accumulates quite a lot of successes, but also quite a lot of mistakes.

Tom Henderson, one of the most famous and reliable insiders today, said that the specifications contained in this leak are realand it completely changed our perception of this information. He also said that the launch of this console is still scheduled for the end of 2024, so it will most likely hit the market shortly before the Christmas campaign, between October and November.

These are the PS5 Pro dates that are confirmed

PS5 Pro concept design

  • 45% higher raster performance than PS5.
  • 2 to 3 times higher performance than PS5 in ray tracing (up to 4 times in some cases).
  • 33.5 TFLOPs of performance in FP32, more than three times the performance of PS5. However, it should be noted that this is because the RDNA 3 architecture uses dual-emission shaders.
  • PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution as an intelligent upscaling technique accelerated by specialized hardware.
  • Custom architecture to accelerate AI and deep learning with 300 TOP performance in 8-bit computing and 67 TFLOPs in FP16.

Still no other important details have been confirmedsuch as CPU, memory and the exact number of shaders that the PS5 Pro will have, but based on the previous rumors and the information we just confirmed, I can close this article estimate pretty reliable what we can expect from this console:

  • Zen 2 CPU with 8 MB L3 cache, 8 cores and 16 threads at 4.4 GHz.
  • 16 GB GDDR6 18 GHz memory with 256-bit bus.
  • Custom RDNA 3 GPU with 60 active compute units.
  • 3,840 shaders at 2.2 GHz (that gives us 33.7 TFLOPs of performance in FP32).
  • The GPU could have features exclusive to the RDNA 4 architecture.
  • 1TB SSD drive.
