With the announcement of the Sense 2 and Versa 4 smartwatches in August 2022, the Fitbit by Google brand was also introduced to the public following Google’s acquisition of wearable device manufacturer Fitbit. Now this brand is a thing of the past and all new devices will be produced under this brand GoogleFitbit.
Until recently fitbit.com used the old branding, but this has recently changed. Google Sans is now used, the brand name is capitalized, and the old dotted arrow logo has been removed. With Google now at the top of the brand name, it’s possible that the four-color G could be Fitbit’s logo in the future.
The rebranding follows the recent launch of a range of accessories for Fitbit smartwatches and trackers on the Google Store, including bands and charging cables. In addition, the name of the “Follow” category has been changed to “Watch & Followers” and the page has been completely revamped. This could eventually mean that the fitbit.com store will disappear entirely and all branded products will be available on the Google platform.
