It’s worth noting that the company is still testing the built-in VPN service. The exact launch date and timing of the introduction of other features, which will be discussed below, are still unknown. But it’s possible that at least one of them will see the light in the next update.
Import passwords and settings from Google Chrome every time you run
The company is testing the functionality to transfer data from the Google Chrome browser to Microsoft Edge every time you start the browser. You can choose which items to import:
Bookmarks.
Search history.
Saved passwords.
Cookie.
Open tabs.
Browser settings.
Location of new feature in Browser/Photo Android Police settings
We’re not talking about porting extensions yet, but the functionality may appear in the future.
Tabs migrated from Chrome will appear in a separate “Import Tabs” group.
After importing the data, all open pages will be in the “Imported tabs” / Photo Neowin group.
As in Telegram: storage of files and links in the cloud
Also, a feature called Drop appeared in the Microsoft Edge build on the Canary update channel. It allows you to host files and links in OneDrive cloud storage and transfer data between devices using a browser. Viber and Telegram messengers are now used for this purpose.
To access Drop, open the sidebar where you can drag and annotate files using the “Messages” area. The data will be synced to the cloud, but you have to account for the amount of free space there.
Access to the Drop function is enabled by activating the sidebar / Photo Neowin.

It is not entirely clear how the interaction with the saved file will continue. Presumably, the function will allow you to create links to download from other browsers, or a new Drop section will appear in the Edge mobile app to download the file to your smartphone.
Microsoft is currently testing the feature, so it’s only available to a small number of users. Drop Sidebar may be missing even if the browser version is the latest.
Automatically switch between personal and work account
Tech Radar reports another useful feature that will allow you to automatically switch between a personal and work account.
This feature will be implemented to “give users more flexibility and privacy when using the browser”. You no longer need to manually switch profiles when opening a working link or any privacy material. The browser will determine this itself.
The function, like the others, is under development. Presumably the release date is June 2022.
