Google is launching a new feature in its Chrome mobile browser for Android. As enthusiasts discovered, third-party password managers and autofill services appeared in the stable build of the browser.
This feature is still hidden from most users, but can be enabled using a special flag (chrome://flags/#enable-autofill-virtual-view-structure).
After activation, the function can be configured in the main menu of the “Autofill Options” section. Users are given two options: Default (Google password manager and Chrome autofill) or Use other providers. To use other password managers and autofill, you need to enable them from your Android phone’s settings menu.
However, users who tested the innovation state that Google hid it for a reason. They complain that third-party password managers do not immediately present initially stored usernames, even though passwords can be easily spoofed. It is also necessary to manually enter new login-password pairs, they are not yet automatically saved.
