Stardew Valley 1.6 is here and it’s a huge update

Eric Barone already announced this a few weeks ago Today has been chosen as the launch day for Stardew Valley 1.6the long-awaited update announced almost a year ago, which was initially a big surprise, since in theory version 1.5 released in December 2020 (although the transition to Android and iOS versions was delayed until the beginning of last year) will be the last, as Barone will focus on his second game, Haunted Chocolatier.

However, and although this announcement came as a surprise, the developer initially stated this His goal was to improve the mod system to make it easier for their creators. This in itself was excellent news, as Stardew Valley has a rich ecosystem of add-ons of this type, with the creators very dedicated to offering everything from visual redesigns to tools that represent a major change to the original game experience.

I clarify that this was the original goal, focusing on “initial” because plans gradually changed. Barone already let us know at the beginning of this year that Stardew Valley update 1.6 will not only come with improvements for modders, that we can also expect some new content. Specifically, some new dialogues and a new festival to add to the existing ones. Good news, no doubt.

Stardew Valley 1.6 is here and it's a huge update

So, Stardew Valley 1.6 is now available as an update for users and although Barone has already shown off some of the news that awaited us in the last few days, the release of the list of news has left all of us fans of the game speechless. Because? Well, because in the end there is not one new festival, but three, a new type of farm, new mechanics, new options for existing elements, new elements, new dialogues, visual improvements… the list is simply incredible.

So much so that a few days ago Barone himself users are advised to launch a new game after downloading the update. Not because Stardew Valley 1.6 is not compatible with previous games, because there will be no problem in this regard, but because only the game started from scratch will allow you to explore all the new features that are finally included in this update. An update that, like all Stardew Valley updates, is free, although due to the amount of content, it would be justified to release it as paid DLC.

I’ve been sure since I saw the first video that Haunted Chocolatier was going to be a smash game, but there’s no doubting how important Stardew Valley is to Barone. Something he’s actually expressed himself on more than one occasion, along with the gratitude he feels towards the community that has formed around the game. So much so that although we might think this is the last update, he also recently stated that They never seem to stop updating it.. What I’ve said a thousand times: all the good things that have been said about Eric Barone and Stardew Valley are not enough.
