NASA will select a lunar rover for Artemis missions

NASA will hold a press conference to announce the company or companies selected to move forward with the development of the Lunar Lander Vehicle (LTV), which will help Artemis astronauts explore more of the Moon’s surface on future missions. The televised event will take place on Wednesday, April 3 at 4 p.m. EDT (3 p.m. CDT) at the agency’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.


The press conference will be broadcast live on NASA+, NASA Television, the NASA app and the agency’s website. Learn how to stream NASA TV on multiple platforms, including social media.

Participants of the event will include:

  • Vanessa Wyche, NASA Johnson Director
  • Jacob Bleacher, NASA Headquarters Chief Scientist
  • Lara Kearney, NASA Johnson Extravehicular and Human Surface Mobility Program manager

International media who wish to attend in person must submit their identification information by 18:00 on Thursday, March 21. US media who wish to attend in person must request identification by 18:00 on Wednesday, March 27. All media organizations wishing to participate by phone must request details by 2pm. April 3th. With Artemis, NASA will land the first woman, first black person, and first international astronaut partner on the surface of the Moon to explore the Moon for scientific discovery, economic gain, and the foundation for human missions to Mars.
