Nvidia recently announced the new Blackwell AI GPU at GTC 2024. The price is now known and it is not low: the Blackwell GPUs are said to cost around $30,000 to $40,000. Based on reports, WCCftech reports that Team Green has invested ten billion dollars Research and Development. Nvidia is positioning itself as a market leader in the AI market and expects significant sales from the Blackwell AI GPU due to the AI hype.

Blackwell is the successor to the Nvidia H100 Hopper chip. The Blackwell AI GPUs, consisting of three chips: Nvidia B200, B100 and GB200, are the big newcomer in the AI world. It’s the first ChipletModel from Nvidia and packs a lot of performance into a Blackwell GPU. According to Tea Kim, writing for Barrons, Team Green has invested a record $10 billion in architectural research and development. Additionally, he says the Blackwell B200 costs more than $6,000.
Potential buyers will spend around $30,000 to $40,000 for the Blackwell AI GPUs, which is a big difference from the previous generation of Hopper chips.
