A senior Hamas official said on Wednesday that Israel’s response to the group’s latest proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip made by the mediators, It was negative.
“On Tuesday evening, our mediator brothers informed us of the position of the occupation on the proposal (…) it generally negative answer and does not respond to requirements (…) In fact, he is withdrawing the approval that he previously gave to the mediators,” Osama Hamdan said at a press conference in Beirut.

He said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government were responsible for the failure of negotiations for the release of hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners or a cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
