Good news for those who enjoy the AnimeBox platform on mobile phones: The service removes limits on access to TVs and players with Android TV, such as Chromecast with Google TV. Thanks to this new application, all TV series and movies can be played. More convenient than mirroring mobile screen and just by clicking on the remote control.
When it comes to Japanese broadcast animation, the first name that usually comes to mind is CrunchyRoll. But it is not the only Japanese content platform, there is also a high-quality platform that distributes anime series and movies on Spanish territory: AnimeBox. Competing with CrunchyRoll for a yearAlthough there was one major omission for those of us who enjoyed its content: It didn’t have an app for Android TV.
Until now, we had Android and iPhone applications; Extensible to tablets of any operating system. What we were missing was an app see content on the big screen without having to send it from your mobile phone to the TV; a process that wasn’t entirely stable or comfortable (application crashes and dubbing errors were quite common).
As AnimeBox announced and we were able to verify on our Android TVs, the platform already serves content directly on this system and without the need to share it via Google Cast. This makes it much easier to enjoy animated series and movies, as well as other content available on the service.
When you sign in to Android TV and enter one of the profiles the service allows (ten profiles per account), the TV app works basically the same as the mobile app: Can be used as one of four active devices available and allows you to share playback with up to one another (AnimeBox supports two simultaneous devices per account on the highest plans).
Playback on Android TV offers a maximum resolution of 1080p, generally includes subtitles for all available content, offers dubbing in common official languages other than Spanish (but not all series and movies), and its catalog includes anime such as: Ranma 1/2, Naruto or InuYasha; and Dragon Ball or One Piece movies. AnimeBox completes seasons of many series and frequently offers new releases, as well as simultaneous premieres with Japan.
To download the Android TV app, simply go to Google Play on the TV or player and install the platform. Subscriptions to view content Prices range from 3.99 Euros (one device) to 5.99 Euros (two devices simultaneously).; with a free option that includes access to selected content only.
