Lenovo has announced the launch of its ThinkPad 2024 notebooks. Unveiled at MWC 2024 alongside innovations such as the transparent laptop, they promise easier repairs, recycled content, energy efficiency and powerful processing capabilities with integrated security.
ThinkPad notebooks will ship in 2024 half a dozen models across the L and X13 series. They will offer different shapes, laptops and 2-in-1 convertibles and in different screen sizes from 13, 14 and 16 inches diagonal, with brightness levels boosted to 400 nits and a 16:10 aspect ratio for increased productivity.
Lenovo will offer its new equipment with both Intel and AMD hardware in some models. The customer will thus be able to choose between Core Ultra processors with VPro technology for hardware management and security and the Ryzen PRO 7030 series present in the ThinkPad L14 Gen 5 and L16 Gen 1. In all cases, they will be able to equip up to 64 GB of RAM, and Lenovo promises an easy option upgrade RAM, SSDs used in storage, keyboard and other components.
The new Lenovo laptops will rely on the latest artificial intelligence technologies to increase productivity in certain workflows. They will have a neural processing unit, the company’s own features and a dedicated key on the keyboard to access the Windows 11 operating system copilot, which is pre-installed on all models.
Models with Intel Core Ultra processors will have support for more than one hundred improved apps for AI, including tools like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Lightroom and Studio Effects, optimized to provide a superior user experience, characterized by intuitive functions and dynamic capabilities. Lenovo promises features like prediction, meeting transcription and email summaries to improve productivity, while digital content tools will boost creativity without compromising system performance.
Lenovo has also committed facilitate repairs facilities to achieve more reliable and durable products with the development of new models of supply chains, services, product designs and materials that facilitate the transition to a circular model “design, use, return and reuse”.
