At a good speed and with a rhythm set for some time, So far, the development of Android 15 is reaching the previously marked milestones month after montha. As you may remember, the first developer review was published more than a month ago, and in this way it already gave us initial access to Google’s plans with regard to the most used mobile operating system in the world, with approximately 70% of the global market share.

We expected, according to the schedule published by the technology itselfat least two developer review betas Android 15. As the name suggests, they are intended exclusively for developers who want to start testing to create/adapt their applications to the new version of the operating system. In other words, it is absolutely not recommended to install it on devices that we use in our daily life.

For end users who want to try Android 15 before most, Public beta versions of the operating system are the most suitable optionwhich will begin to be released next month, and although they do not offer the stability and reliability of the final version (let’s not forget that this is a beta version), they have a higher level of optimization, achieved, among other things, thanks to feedback which exactly provide two developer reviews.

Google releases Android 15 beta "Developer review 2".

So although they are not intended for the general public, the information they provide is of great interest to her because it tells us what we can expect from the release of the final version. And that is why we received the news with such great interest that Google has already released developer preview 2 of Android 15 for developers, Now they can install it on both selected Google Pixel devices and Android SKD.

So, as we can read in Android Police, its first review already provides us with interesting information about the news that comes with this new beta version. These are the most notable:

  • Satellite connection: We predicted this a few weeks ago, and now this beta version of Android 15 confirms it. Satellite connectivity is making its way, even if there is still considerable uncertainty about whether it can catch on (which also requires that it be profitable for satellite network operators and “charged” for ordinary mortals ), technology companies are already paying a lot of attention to it. So in this beta version we find elements of its interface specially designed to manage SMS, MMS and RCS messages through this type of connection.
  • Improvements for foldable smartphones: Although the external screens of Fold devices are already very useful, the same does not happen if we talk about Flip devices, since the options for them are quite limited. Among the novelties of this beta version, however, we find the necessary tools for developers to adapt their applications to these screens and thus expand their possibilities.
  • NFC mode: Google is adding a new mode where apps will be able to switch this connection system to “listen-only” mode, as opposed to its current operation where a full connection is established initially. This will allow the device to identify in advance the possible devices it can connect to, for example to make a payment or open a door, and therefore when we want to perform the said operation, it will be done faster.
  • Increased PDF support: PDF file support has always been an unsolved problem for smartphones. However, with the improvements we see in Android 15 Developer Review 2, it seems that a big improvement is coming in this sense, as the operating system will natively have the ability to open documents of this type with a password, search them and make modifications, among other new features.

So, as you can see, everything points to Android 15 being an interesting update and we still have a few months of betas left in which to learn more news. News about which we will of course inform you immediately.
