Microsoft is improving its Notepad app in Windows 11 with a new spell checker feature. Testers already have access to the new feature in Notepad and the feature will be available to all Windows 11 users later this year.
Microsoft is finally bringing spell checker to its Notepad app in Windows 11. This feature works similarly to Microsoft Word or the Microsoft Edge browser. Spelling errors are automatically underlined in red and can be easily corrected by right-clicking to apply the spelling suggestions. Additionally, Microsoft has added autocorrect to correct typing errors. The spell checker in Notepad supports multiple languages.
A blog post states that certain settings can be easily changed in the Notepad app. For example, the feature is enabled by default for some file types, except for files associated with encryption. To do this, the user can temporarily activate or deactivate the current file in the context menu.
