As you may remember, yesterday we told you that Google had just released developer preview 2 of Android 15 and we recapped the main new features that this developer beta showed us. However, and as always happens in these cases, an in-depth examination of the beta version, its files, configuration settings and other system elements, it gives us even more information about what lies aheadbasically with the arrival of the final version of the OS.

We are still, yes, vfearly stage of development, in which features are often tested that may later be delayed or dropped, either due to feedback from developers, due to an evaluation of interest that seems to arouse both them and users, and of course also for technical reasons such as possible operational problems that are difficult to solve. That said, even as we face what the future of Android 15 might be, we shouldn’t make the mistake of taking it for granted.

After this clarification, today we know about a feature that, of course, many users, including myself, will accept with great joy. And as we read in Android Police and I was able to personally verify, the developer review 2 of the Android 15 lets you share an audio signal simultaneously between multiple Bluetooth devices. The new setting is located in the connected devices configuration of the operating system, as you can see in the following image, which also shows that a test function has been added to allow audio playback on all connected audio devices for this purpose:

Android 15 will allow audio signal sharing

This feature, which Samsung already offers to users of some of its devices, relies on Auracastwhich is part of the technologies associated with Bluetooth, and which, after being introduced by the Bluetooth SIG in mid-2022, began to make its way into Qualcomm’s integrated devices just a year later, in the middle of last year, along with other notable improvements such as reduced latency in audio transmission to values around 20 milliseconds.

What i mean? The implementation at the hardware level was very fair for Android 14, but Google has more than a reasonable margin of time, so it is finally present in Android 15, and therefore we can use it to share the audio signal. which we listen to through our own Bluetooth headphones, with other people also connecting to the device with theirs.

At least in theory, Auracast has no limit on the number of headphones/speakers that can be connected simultaneouslyalthough it will be necessary to check whether the limit is finally set for whatever reasons.
