The addiction Manzana has a relatively high one, not only in terms of manufacturing its products, but also because it has to adapt its services in order to sell them in that country. Because of that, a giant bitten apple could work with Baidu to implement its generative artificial intelligence technology in iOS 18 and iPhone 16.
The explosion of artificial intelligence that has been seen recently has taken Apple a bit by surprise. The latest we hear is that the Cupertino giant is planning to dive into generative artificial intelligence with the help of companies like Baidu, colloquially known as the “Chinese Google”. Baidu’s technology implementation aims to exclusively target the Asian country, and China tends to put quite a few barriers to foreign companies due to its regime.
Baidu’s commitment to the Chinese market leaves the door open for partnerships with other companies in other geographies to implement generative artificial intelligence in the future iPhone generation and iOS 18, and that’s where Google and OpenAI come in, which would be now in talks with Apple to fill of this place. In fact, it is known Negotiations are underway with Google to implement Gemini.
However, the use of third-party technologies for generative artificial intelligence could be temporary, at least in the West Apple is developing its own solution in this regard. Apparently, the company has already managed to create a generative artificial intelligence capable of editing, manipulating and animating still images based on commands provided in natural language, and we can see this implemented in iOS 18.
It remains to be seen what decisions Apple will eventually make and implement regarding its AI strategy for the iPhone, as regulations from China and the European Union aim to make it difficult for companies to apply a homogeneous policy in this regard. Doubts surrounding this issue will most likely be resolved at the WWDC 2024 event, where Apple should announce all the new features that iOS 18 will include and in which geographic areas it will reach.
