Pope Francis today condemned the “heinous terrorist attack” last Friday in Moscowwhich killed at least 133 people and which he called “an inhumane act that insults God” during the Angelus prayer after Palm Sunday Mass.

“I assure you that I am praying for the victims of the heinous terrorist attack that took place last night in Moscow. May the Lord receive them into His peace and comfort their families.” the pontiff said to more than 25 thousand faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square.

Francis also expressed hope that “he will convert the hearts of those who defend, organize and carry out these inhumane acts that offend God, who ordered: “Thou shalt not kill.”
