Zoom is integrating more AI features into its Zoom Phone application. The expansion of this app fits with the introduction of Zoom Workplace. The AI ​​Companion provides a fully-fledged entry into the telephone application. For example, users can now request a meeting summary on their mobile device. Zoom’s generative AI also likes to suggest what next steps are possible. Theoretically, note-taking becomes unnecessary.

Zoom can also bring important voicemail messages to the foreground or extract specific tasks from them. Combining SMS threads is also one of the new options.

Ask AI Companion

The AI ​​Companion can work with previously created summaries and notes to extract important data or steps. Zoom announced these features under the headline Ask AI Companion and they are also available on mobile devices. Anyone with a paid Zoom account can get started with AI features.

Zoom places great emphasis on integrating AI as a core pillar of its portfolio. AI Companion is not an addition to the existing range, but a part of it that does not cost anything extra. In this way, Zoom wants to stand out from the competition, especially Google Meet and Microsoft Teams.
