On March 25, engineers from Elon Musk’s company carried out a full static burn of all six Raptor engines in the upper stage of the S29 prototype of the Starship transport system, designed for the fourth test flight.
Elon Musk has previously reported that SpaceX plans to conduct six or more Starship test flights in 2024 to put the reusable transportation system into service as soon as possible.
However, the timing of flights depends entirely on the company; There are also regulatory hurdles to overcome, most notably obtaining launch licenses from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The FAA is currently reviewing materials from Starship’s third test flight, and it is unclear when that study will be completed.
