These three apps track your every move. Even though you can put obstacles in their way, you can’t eliminate them.

It’s not new that most Google services are free, nor is it new that this is possible. get user data. Therefore, we recommend that you always make your mobile phone yours and yours only, with certain settings that will allow you to protect your privacy.

There are three apps that abuse permissions significantly. access our location whenever we want. These are what you see in the picture, but luckily we can put up barriers to prevent them from moving around freely. We tell you how to do this.

Why do these three apps find you?

Location

The mobile phone collects this information from the user in order to function properly and provide us with a service appropriate to our location. This is the main reason why we see geo-located ads and interesting news related to our location in sections like Explore.

Unless we opt for software without Google, this is almost inevitable on current smartphones and doesn’t actually pose any risk, because our information is safe and is protected by the company. However, there are also users who choose to delete these applications from their mobile phones with more advanced methods.

As a rule, we cannot remove them from our Android mobile phoneare system applications. Therefore, we will choose to restrict access to the location, which will be easy to do.

How to restrict location access?

With Android permission manager we have a powerful tool with which you can tell every app: you do, you don’t… We can grant permission via permission entry denied to information as important as contacts or mobile camera. And location is among them, we explain how to do this with three discord applications:

Google App Permissions Location

  • Go to “Settings” > “Apps”. Look for one of the three Google apps we mentioned in the list.
  • Then enter the “Permissions” section. Then tap “Location”. Disable access with the “Do not allow” option.

It’s that easy to block location access. Although we need to comment on a few asterisks: on the one hand, you will not be able to apply this change to: Google Play ServicesOn the other hand, you will need to grant this permission again for them to work normally.

If you can do without these applications (do not do this with services, otherwise your mobile phone will start to malfunction) you can disable them. It comes in the same section, but depending on the manufacturer’s tier it will be called “Disable”, “Disable” or even “Disable”.

Delete all traces of your activity in location history

After we partially stop these three applications from accessing the location, we need to think about what to do. The information they have kept so far. This is what Google calls location history, which is one of the “My Activity” sections.

By accessing this tool we can: delete location timelineAs well as disabling it to prevent them from storing this data. To do this, just follow these steps:

  • Go to “My Activity” by following the link we left above.
  • Click “Location History” and click “Disable” on the next screen.
  • When disabled, you can optionally delete all information in the “Manage History” section.

Closing the location has consequences

While this all seems like an advantage to us, disabling our location has significant consequences: You lose the possibility of recovery if you lose your phone, your contacts won’t be able to find you, and overall a less personalized experience.

No matter what, with all this in mind, we’ll keep these three “location-destroying” apps at bay. Finally use a smartphone contains certain concessionsespecially when they offer us such complete and useful services for free.
