Microsoft on Tuesday appointed Pawan Davuluri as the new president of its Windows and Surface divisions. From now on, the two teams will work together under his leadership.
As reported by Ukrinform, Border.
An internal memo from the company’s head of research and devices, Rajesh Jha, seen by the publication, says the merger of the two divisions will allow “the implementation of a holistic approach to building components, systems, experiences, and devices.” From Windows clients to cloud technologies in the age of artificial intelligence.
After Panos Pannai’s surprise move to Amazon in 2023, Microsoft divided Windows and Surface into two groups. Davuluri led silicon and Surface devices, while Mykhailo Parakhin led a team focused on Windows and web experience. But from now on, both divisions of the company will report to Davuluri, because Parakhin “decided to try himself in new roles.”
Davuluri worked at Microsoft for more than 23 years and was actively involved in the company’s efforts to create custom Surface processors with Qualcomm and AMD.
As reported by Ukrinform, on February 14, Andriy Karpaty, co-founder of artificial intelligence OpenAI, announced that he was leaving the company.
