On Wednesday morning, China launched a new Earth remote sensing satellite “Yunhai-3 02” (Yunhai-3 02), which will allow to predict natural disasters with higher accuracy and prevent their devastating consequences.
Xinhua reported this, as reported by Ukrinform.
The spacecraft was launched into Earth orbit on a modified Changzheng-6 (Long March-6) launch vehicle launched at 6:51 a.m. local time (0:51 a.m. Kiev time) from the Taiyuan Cosmodrome in northern Shanxi province.
The satellite will be used to monitor the atmosphere, marine environment and space, conduct scientific experiments, detect signs of the occurrence of hazardous atmospheric phenomena and predict natural disasters and reduce their consequences.
This launch was the 514th mission of the Changzheng series launch vehicles.
