The Flirt H2 hydrogen fuel train, designed and built by the Swiss company Stadler, traveled 2,803 kilometers without refueling at the base of the test center in the American state of Colorado.

“The Stadler company is pleased to announce that it has been entered into the Guinness Book of World Records database. FLIRT H2 has achieved the world record for the longest distance traveled by a hydrogen-fueled passenger train without refueling or charging – 2,803 kilometers (1,741.7 miles).” The message said:
It is stated that the Stadler company presented the Flirt H2 to the public for the first time at the InnoTrans fair in Berlin in 2022. The innovative solutions were first extensively tested in Switzerland and more recently at a dedicated test facility in the state of Colorado (USA).
“The world record started on the evening of March 20, 2024, when the train completed its first laps on the test track. Expert teams from Stadler and ENSCO continued in shifts throughout the night and the next day, completing the successful test in March. In the statement, 22 November 2024, 17:23 CET ( 00:23 CET on 23 March 2024). In total, the train traveled 2,803 kilometers (1,741.7 miles) in 46 hours on one tank of fuel.”
As reported in December 2021, Stadler’s FLIRT Akku battery-powered train broke the world record for the longest fully battery-powered train journey in Germany.
