As reported by Ukrinform, Daily Mail reports this.
The tragedy occurred on March 27 at the Vandapac factory in Chonburi province, Thailand.
In the published footage, a factory worker is seen placing a metal plate on his work table when a robotic arm swings downward sharply and pins it to the table.
Another employee continued working in another part of the common area, unaware of the tragedy.
Medical teams only intervened when the alarm went off. The man received emergency treatment and was taken to a hospital in Chonburi. However, it was announced that the seriously injured person died in the hospital where he was taken.
Factory management claims that the robot arm was working within normal limits and blamed the accident on a wrong decision made by the worker.
They argue that the worker was aware of the robot arm’s capabilities and made mistakes while working under it.
Vandapac specializes in the production of plastic products for a variety of industries and employs more than 1,800 people at its facilities in Thailand.
In November 2023, a packaging robot at a vegetable sorting plant in South Korea crushed a person, Ukrinform reported.
