The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has selected two companies to develop new spacesuits for US astronauts.

According to Ukrinform, this was stated in a press release from NASA.

These are Axiom Space and Collins Aerospace. The total amount of the contract is 3.5 billion USD.

It is stated that the new spacesuits will be designed to work with astronauts outside the International Space Station, to study the moon’s surface as part of the Artemis missions, and to prepare for missions with humans to Mars.

“NASA and our partners will develop advanced reliable space suits that will allow humans to explore space like never before,” said the Space Center director. NASA’s Johnson at Houston Vanessa Witch.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that the first unmanned flight of the Space Launch System (SLS) and Orion module, scheduled for Artemis 1 on June 19 this year, has been delayed to lunar orbit.

The next Artemis 2 mission could happen in 2022 or 2023.
