Minisforum AtomMan brings liquid cooling to the Mini-PC

Minisforum AtomMan is a new series of Mini-PCs from the Chinese specialist. Brand new brand which will include the highest performance models, with hardware from Intel and AMD and liquid cooling systems uncommon in compact computers.

Minisforum held its annual conference last week to present the products of the company, which has become one of the best-selling Mini-PCs. The event also served to announce the launch of the MINISFORUM V3, a very interesting hybrid that we liked from its presentation at CES, as it can function as a tablet, laptop or external monitor. Its price, which is close to $1000, is high, but it looks very good with a 14-inch screen and a Ryzen 7 8840U processor with 8 cores and 16 threads.

All in all, compact computers continue to be the manufacturer’s forte, and at the conference he introduced a new sub-brand Minisforum AtomMan dedicated to high performance device and under which four different models with both Intel and AMD processors were introduced. We revise them.

UM890WE It is a model with a size slightly above the average in Mini-PC (volume 3.5 liters) and is equipped with a powerful AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS. This APU includes 8 cores, 16 threads, a clock speed of up to 5.2 GHz, 16 MB L3 cache and 8 MB L2 cache, and a TDP of 45 W. The chip has an iGPU Radeon 780M with 12 computing units and a frequency of 2800 MHz.

The most innovative part is that it mounts a liquid cooling system. It doesn’t seem like the APU needs it as a base, but it is. It has DDR5-5600 memory support (maximum capacity 64 GB), two M.2 Gen4 SSDs and a wide range of I/O, which include 4 USB 3.2 Type-A, 2 USB4 (40 Gbps), HDMI 2.1, Display Port, 2 2 .5 GbE LAN and OCULINK port for connecting external graphics.

HX200G. Another piece of equipment under the Minisforum AtomMan brand is a full-fledged desktop, although it may not look like it by design, which includes a 16-core Ryzen 9 7945HX CPU and a discrete Radeon 7600M XT Mobility GPU based on RDNA 3 graphics. This system is compatible with the AMD Advantage ecosystem and offers support for DDR5 memory and SSD PCIe Gen5.

AtomMan HN149. The manufacturer also introduced options with Intel hardware. Most interesting is the continuation of their NUCX systems that were released a few years ago. This vertical-style Mini PC has a very similar design and is equipped with a 24-core Core i9-14900HX and a 170W NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU. The chassis is super thin and includes two cooling fans equipped with 5 copper heat pipes and a cooling power of up to 180W.

Atom UH185. The smallest in size claims to be the manufacturer of “the first IA PC”. It is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H with 16 cores, 22 threads, a boost clock of up to 5.1 GHz, 24 MB cache and a TDP of up to 115 W (MTP). It has an integrated Intel Arc graphics card with 8 Xe cores and a frequency of 2350 MHz. It offers support for up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM memory and two Gen4 SSDs. It also has an OCULINK port and an external screen for operational information.

The Minisforum AtomMan brand will be available in China on May 20th, followed by an international launch. A demonstration of the strength of the manufacturer in Mini-PC, even though they are far from average compact computers in terms of size, performance (and we are afraid of price).
