OpenAI opens its AI platform ChatGPT to everyone without requiring you to create an account.

You can now use ChatGPT, OpenAI’s free AI platform, without creating an account. Curious users can get to know the platform more quickly without having to register, writes OpenAI in a blog post. However, users without an account miss out on some benefits such as saving chat history, sharing chats, or unlocking additional features. The rollout has begun gradually.

Account Benefits

It is no longer necessary to create an account with ChatGPT. From now on, anyone without an account can use the free AI platform ChatGTP. OpenAI wants to give curious users the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the platform, but there is a catch.

Users without an account miss out on some of the benefits they would have with an account. For example, it is possible to save and view chat history, share chats and unlock additional features such as voice conversations and individual instructions.

Content protection

OpenAI said in its blog post that the ability to unsubscribe from model training remains even without an account. This allows users to choose whether their ChatGPT activities should be used to train the OpenAI models. You can easily disable this by clicking on it at the bottom right of the chat window Question mark click to Settings and then deactivate the function.

Additionally, OpenAI is introducing “additional content protections for this experience,” including block prompts across a broader range of categories. What this rather vague description means and which categories it affects remains unclear. The introduction will take place gradually. Curious users should definitely keep an eye on chat.openai.com.
