Drone enthusiasts have a new reason to wait! DJI has officially announced the release of the long-awaited DJI Avata 2 drones and DJI Goggles 3 flying goggles, scheduled for release on April 11. The specifications of these new devices have been leaked and here are the details.

1080p recording can be upscaled to 240fps for slow motion

DJI Avata 2 features an impressive camera with a 1/1.3-inch 48MP F/2.8 CMOS sensor and 12.7mm focal length, offering a wide 155-degree field of view to capture large-scale scenes. Videographers will love the 4K/2.7K resolution shooting options and 60 to 120 fps frame rate support for smooth action shots. For greater flexibility when editing in slow motion, 1080p recording reaches a stunning 240fps. DJI’s renowned RockSteady 3.0+, HorizonSteady and HorizonBalancing stabilization technologies are included, ensuring shake-free video capture no matter the conditions.

Avata 2 is a compact flyer that weighs just 458 grams and measures 180 x 216 x 82 mm. Flight time depends on the control mode used. Traverse joystick mode offers an impressive 27 minutes, while switching to “M” mode (perhaps manual mode or mixed reality FPV mode) reduces flight time to 12-15 minutes.

DJI Goggles 3 provides a clear view of your flight with a 1920 x 1080 resolution display with a smooth 100Hz refresh rate for an immersive experience. DJI OcuSync 4.0 technology provides reliable image transmission, allowing you to stay in communication with the drone throughout the flight. Goggles 3 weighs 420 grams and is powered by a 2450 mAh battery.
