Of his own merit, WhatsApp succeeds in flipping the image which has been accompanying the most used instant messaging service for several years. I’m talking, of course, about the lack of innovation that for quite a long time allowed other services to be in functions, security, reliability, etc. Obviously, there was never any official confirmation in this regard, but everything indicated that those responsible, filled with success (in numbers), fell asleep on laurels.
Just look at the publications about the service that you can find on MuyComputer to verify this, the vast majority relate to new features, whether they are in testing or have been deployed to all users. And yes, it’s true, you can also find “news” about new and fascinating WhatsApp modes, which, as we’ve already told you on more than one occasion, are actually, clickbait from third parties, for which we cannot hold Meta responsible.
The same can be said about interoperability, that WhatsApp has done its homework to be able to implement it when the legal deadline arrives, but as we told you at the time, there are no signs of connecting to other services at the moment, since none of the Meta asked o “bridge” necessary to connect to WhatsApp. Will we see any movement in this direction in the near future? Well, the truth is that I have more and more doubts about it..
Thus, in the absence of features related to third parties, those responsible for the service continue to think about what they can do to improve it, and as we can read in Expansión México, the feature requested by many users is already on the table. Who? Ability to schedule messages to be sent on WhatsAppsomething that’s just an idea at this point, but was pointed out by Will Cathcart, director of the instant messaging service.
Users would then have the option to write a message (and I understand to also record audio or video), but instead of sending it immediately schedule to send at a more convenient time. This may seem like a very simple thing to do, but I have personally found myself on more than one occasion intending to send a message at the wrong time because the alternative was to leave it pending and perhaps end up falling through the cracks. If WhatsApp finally adopts message scheduling (and I really hope it does), this problem will go away, which is a huge success for me.
