Amazon is launching a new Deadline cloud service for graphics rendering in the AWS cloud.
Amazon introduces Deadline Cloud, a new service that enables customers to deploy and scale graphics and visual effects rendering pipelines in the AWS cloud. This new service is aimed at the media and entertainment industry and is being launched in conjunction with the upcoming National Association of Broadcasters conference later this month in Las Vegas. In Europe, Amazon Cloud is currently only available in Frankfurt and Ireland.
Cloud-based graphics rendering
Deadline Cloud is primarily aimed at media and entertainment customers, but is also perfect for architecture and engineering. Customers can use AWS Computing to deliver content for TV shows, movies, advertising, or video games. “We are at an inflection point in the industry where the demand for high-quality VFX renders and the amount of content created with generative AI is exceeding the capacity of customers’ local render farms,” said Antony Passemard, CEO of Creative Tools at AWS.
Customers are guided from the configuration process to the final rendering using a startup wizard. Additionally, Elastic Compute Cloud instances are included in Deadline Cloud, which manages the network and compute infrastructure. Deadline Cloud includes a clear dashboard with logs to analyze and display ongoing rendering tasks and costs. Additionally, customers can connect their own third-party software licenses to the service or use usage-based rendering licenses with existing rendering tools and engines.
Deadline Cloud is currently available in the Eastern US, Asia Pacific and Europe, specifically Frankfurt and Ireland.
