Ubiquiti launches UniFi gateway with four 2.5GbE ports

Anyone looking to upgrade their network to 2.5GbE ports can now turn to Ubiquiti with the UniFi Gateway Max. The brand is aimed at enthusiasts and SMEs.

Ubiquiti expands its offering of UniFi gateways with the launch of UniFi Gateway Max. The key upgrade compared to the Gateway Lite is the presence of four 2.5GbE Ethernet ports and one 2.5GbE WAN port. All other security functions that are traditionally part of the UniFi system are also included here.

The Max retains the compact size of the Gateway Lite, which was announced late last year. The gateway is powered via USB-C (5V/3A), which offers you additional flexibility in the future, for example by being able to power multiple gateways with one adapter.

At the heart of the Max is a quad-core ARM chip (Cortex A53) clocked at 1.5GHz, along with 2GB of DDR4 RAM. Ubiquiti does not use a fan in its design; everything is passively cooled.

The Ubiquiti UniFi Gateway Max is available from today and costs 184 euros. That’s 64 euros more than the Lite with two 1 GbE ports. Please note that a UniFi hosting subscription costs 29 euros per month to centrally manage UniFi network devices. All prices mentioned above are exclusive of VAT.

Earlier this year, Ubiquiti announced the Gateway Ultra, a UniFi Wifi 7 compatible access point. Last year, the brand surprised everyone by introducing a switch that lights up in all the right places.
