The long-awaited Samsung One UI 6.1 software update for Galaxy S23 devices now appears to be causing issues with fingerprint sensors, users said via Reddit.
Samsung rolled out the new Samsung One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy S23 devices at the end of March, which would include Galaxy AI features just like the Galaxy S24 series devices. Samsung users have been upgrading their devices en masse to try out the latest features, including Circle to Search or the Live Translation service. Just a week later, we see on Reddit that many users are reporting an issue with the fingerprint sensor since the new update. We are still waiting for a response or a new update from Samsung.
Problem with the fingerprint sensor
Anyone who has a Samsung Galaxy S23 in their hands and quickly downloaded the latest Samsung One UI 6.1 update may have already encountered this problem. There are many comments on Reddit where users are having problems with their fingerprint sensor since downloading the latest Samsung update. Users apparently manage to get it to work eventually, although most report that unlocking usually doesn’t work on the first try.
Although many users experience this problem, no one has found a bug yet. The error also appeared randomly, making it even more difficult to figure out. Samsung hasn’t offered a solution yet, so we’ll have to wait for the next update for now. Haven’t you implemented the latest update on your S23 device yet? Then it is advisable to wait a while until a solution appears.
