Google Pixel smartphones are, and I’ve mentioned this on other occasions, one of the most interesting options on the market currently. From the cheapest variant, which is currently the Pixel 7a (although we hope to see its successor, the Pixel 8a, in just over a month, at the Google I/O 2024 keynote) to the flagship, the Pixel 8 Pro, all of them managed to become a differentiated proposition in a really difficult market.

As I said when testing both devices (7a and 8 Pro), We are not talking about smartphones focused on raw performance, but on optimization, something that allows you to get the most out of its components. And this is not only reflected in more than decent performance, but we also find exclusive features that are based precisely on the great knowledge of the company’s engineers in their own platform, both hardware and software.

What Google likes to talk about most in the Google Pixel conversation is undoubtedly the features, everything its device can do, and especially features that reach them exclusively through Pixel Drops, such as the expansion of Circle to Search features, no doubt going through a vast and ever-growing list of AI-based features. Well, it seems that another feature is already in the works, which technically seems simpler, but which can significantly improve the user experience.

Google Pixel will make it easier to identify unknown numbers

How many times a week do you receive calls from numbers you cannot identify? I don’t know about you, but in my case, I’ve gotten to the point where if I don’t know a number, I resort to Googling it before I call. And now it seems, as we read on PiunikaWeb, that Google is about to add a button to Pixel smartphones that will allow you to search for information about the numbers that call us. Something that will undoubtedly make the process significantly easier, which is unfortunately becoming more common every day for many users.

In fact, it is nothing completely new because, as we can read in the above publication, Google has already deployed this feature in Japan, so we understand that its operation has already been evaluated and that it is now ready for wider deployment. The new button will appear in the list of recent calls, expand the options available for each number, and press it to automatically search on Google.
