Music platform Spotify launched a beta version of its artificial intelligence playlists on Monday.
This was reported by Tech Crunch, Ukrinform reported.
The new option allows users to create playlists based on text prompts. Spotify notes that in addition to standard possibilities for creating playlists based on genre or time period, for example, the use of artificial intelligence will allow users to diversify playlists by, for example, searching for “songs that will serenade your cat.”
After creating a playlist, users can use AI to examine and improve the final result by issuing commands, for example, “make the playlist less cheerful” or “more pop music.”
Spotify applies large-scale language models (LLM) to understand user preferences, as well as its own personalization technology to fulfill the request and create a personalized playlist generated by AI.
The feature will initially be available to Android and iOS device users in the UK and Australia, and will be rolled out to other countries over the next few months.
As reported by Ukrinform, Swedish streaming company Spotify plans to increase its monthly subscription cost by around $1-2 in many countries for the second time this year.
