Russia expresses ‘extreme concern’ over Ecuador attack on Mexican embassy

Police Ecuadorian officials raided the headquarters of the Mexican Embassy in Quito on Friday and detained Jorge Glass, vice president of the country for a term of office Rafael Correa (2007–2017), the same day the Mexican government granted him political asylum.

Glas, who entered the embassy last December and shortly after asking for asylum, is facing criminal prosecution for allegedly embezzlement funds in the so-called case ‘Reconstruction’ provinces Manabi, after the 2016 earthquake.
