Approximately 400 couples were married at a mass wedding event called “Elopement and Blackout” in Russellville, Arkansas.

There were also at least two weddings and one proposal at Niagara Falls State Park in New York; An estimated 2,000 people watched the eclipse there. Initially, the sky was covered with clouds, but those present managed to see the last 30 seconds of the eclipse. As the sky began to lighten, the musicians sang “Man on the Moon” by American rock band REM.

Meanwhile, in the Mexican resort town of Mazatlan, an orchestra played the Star Wars soundtrack while thousands of people wearing sunglasses watched the solar eclipse.

The partial eclipse, in which the Moon blocked only part of the sun, was visible throughout much of the continental United States outside the path of the total eclipse, weather conditions permitting.
About 80 minutes passed from the time the Moon began covering the Sun until the moment of total eclipse, and it took the same amount of time for the Sun to emerge from the shadow of the Earth’s satellite.

The solar eclipse on April 8 lasted a total of 4 minutes and 28 seconds longer than the previous eclipse in 2017.
As reported, a lunar eclipse occurred on the evening of May 5, 2023, when the Earth satellite entered the outer edge of the Earth’s shadow.
