Advertising in an election context

Arrest of the former oil king Tarek El Aissamiformer confidant of President Nicolas Maduro and his predecessor Hugo Chavez, “It appears to be part of the electoral context.”explains RFI political scientist Guillermo Aveledo.

“Essentially, this is the context of reshuffles even within the forces of Chavismo before the elections. Making captures, finding the resources they need for the campaign, but at the same time being part of the house cleaning campaign. As for criticism of corruption, “well, the president is not guilty, others are to blame, there are others who bear this responsibility.” The blame, circumstances and shortcomings of this period will be placed on a big scapegoat like Citizen Tarek, Aissami, and this in turn will create a constant threat that is part of the official discourse, a constant threat from external agents. The agency is already connected through the prosecutor’s office with the United States. “That is the direct conclusion that the attorney general made.”
