Panasonic is opening a test environment for 5G networks on its campus in Munich. Customers can start with private 5G to ease the rollout in Europe.

Panasonic has opened a new private 5G network test facility at its Customer Experience Center (CXC) in Munich. The goal of this test environment is to demonstrate to customers how they can use 5G for mission-critical applications across various industries. Panasonic is working with providers to offer tailored private 5G networks across Europe.

In the test facility, Panasonic aims to demonstrate, among other things, the ease with which a private 5G network is installed and configured, as well as the higher download and upload speeds and lower latency that 5G’s network capacity enables. The security of 5G and supporting protocols are also discussed.

Industries such as transportation, logistics, manufacturing and construction can discover the benefits of connecting multiple devices over a private network. Third-party manufacturers and software developers also have the opportunity to test 5G applications and devices in a real-world environment and optimize their applications for various operating systems, including Windows, iOS and Android.

Thorsten Lutz, EU Solution Architect at Panasonic Toughbook, highlights the importance of 5G for companies that want improved efficiency and connectivity but are unsure about how to implement it. Thanks to Panasonic’s expertise in connectivity and mobile devices, the company is now offering private 5G networks to customers in Europe.
