Microsoft has launched a new “information” campaign for Windows 10 users to jump to Windows 11. The campaign is just as irritating as the previous ones of the same type that the company launches from time to time. Includes full screen ad and borders on the absurd, targeting teams that they are not eligible to upgrade to Windows 11 as they do not exceed the minimum hardware requirements.

Windows 10 users know very well when the life cycle of the operating system will end and the options to upgrade to Windows 11 or other alternative platforms such as Linux, macOS or ChromeOS. If we continue with Windows 10, it is because we believe it is better than Windows 11faster, stable, has fewer hardware requirements, and doesn’t include as much Bloatware, advertising, or AI that is over-hyped for what it does.

But Microsoft continues and continues to insist on this in every possible way. It removed the commercialization of Windows 10 licenses (although there are very cheap alternatives) and forced OEMs to pre-install Windows 11 on all new PCs. Not really, and while the jump to Windows 11 is still free, it has seen massive updates. Customers simply prefer Windows 10 and the company should respect that. But not. We’re going back to our old ways.

The latest “info” campaign to be reported from Reddit reminds you that Windows technical support will end in October 2025. And it’s doing so with a full-screen ad that arrives without warning and disrupts your workflow. The blatant nature of the message is heightened by the fact that can’t just be thrown away. Don’t even select the “do not disturb” button to prevent it from appearing again in the future.

Users have four options. Click the End of Support “Learn more” link for information about the end of Windows 10; Click on “Why Windows 11?” where the company advertises the system; another “Remind me later” option to set a timer to hide the annoying screen for an unknown amount of time, or click the More info button to access more of Microsoft’s own promotions.

Even worse. Advertising is included on computers that are not eligible for Windows 11 because they do not exceed the hardware requirements. What’s the point of promoting an update on machines that can’t be updated? Users also criticize the interruption of PC use by these types of full-screen ads and the lack of information about the extended update program.

You can expect these types of ads, which range from annoying to annoying, to increase as the end of support for Windows 10 approaches. However, it’s up to you which operating system you want to use. And not Microsoft.
