While it’s true that Android Auto is my favorite infotainment system for cars due to the quality of its existing apps, honestly, there’s one thing it needs to improve on: reliability. Beyond specific glitches, it’s not uncommon for you to try connecting the phone and it won’t recognize it or other errors will pop up. For example, we can try to initialize it and this Android Auto screen goes dark. What to do in these situations?

Android Auto screen went blank: causes and solutions

Normally when I encounter any failure I always do the same thing: turn it off and on again and Android Auto is no exception. Sometimes there may be minor errors with no apparent explanation that are easily resolved by completely shutting down the system and turning it back on after a few seconds. Sometimes I even turned off the screen, sometimes I directly removed the car’s ignition key for a deeper reset.

If the problem is not resolved, do not panic because the black screen does not have to be a serious malfunction. Next test in progress disconnect mobileAfter all, that’s what Android Auto provides to the system. If the issue is a connectivity issue, uninstalling and reconnecting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth may fix the problem. But in my case, I always tend to prefer wired connection as it causes less problems and if the error keeps popping up on wireless connection then I would definitely prefer wired connection.

Android Auto screen keeps going blank after these three suggested solutions which are pretty quick to run, How I solve almost anything with Google infotainment is to resort to clearing the cache. Because? Because although they help to have a more agile experience, if there are too many files accumulated and some of them are corrupt, this is how we solve certain errors. To clear cache go to ‘Settings‘ > ‘Applications‘ and scroll down to find ‘Android Auto’. Once you’re in, come on’to store‘and we continue’clear cache‘.

cache

I would like to emphasize that deleting the cache does not lose any applications, settings or personal information that we have previously added or installed. Of course, when you turn Android Auto back on later, the process may slow down a bit as the files will need to be downloaded to remain in the cache again.

Likewise we cannot ignore reasons for using phones This causes the black screen to appear, such as a low battery of our mobile phone, connection losses that cause the screen to react inadequately, or even the device getting too hot. So it’s better to let it charge something (we’ll resort to wired connection again) and leave it in a cool, dry area.

As I mentioned before, I never spend more than five minutes testing for possible Android Auto failures, and all of the above shouldn’t take longer than that. If Android Auto still has a black screen after these attempts, I’ll be sure to restore Android Auto to start from scratch.

Reset Android Auto It’s a simple and quick process, given that Google’s in-car infotainment system is a reflection of the mobile phone, so apps won’t get lost, and there aren’t too many customization options either. To do this we will go to the mobile phone and there in the settings we will follow this route: ‘Applications‘ > ‘Android Auto‘ > ‘to store‘ And ‘delete data‘. Then simply reconnect the mobile phone via cable; The initial configuration will start from scratch.
