The Israeli army said Iran had launched “dozens of drones” towards its territory and said it would take “several hours” to reach the country and that the Israeli air force was tracking them to intercept them.

Israeli authorities have decided to close their country’s airspace starting at 00:30 local time (21:30 GMT).

“Iran has just launched unmanned aerial vehicles from its territory into the State of Israel,” Israeli Armed Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari said in a statement.

“The Israel Defense Forces are always on alert based on the situation.

“The air defense system is in combat readiness, Air Force aircraft and Navy ships are performing the task of protecting the country’s skies. “The IDF is pursuing every goal.”

The military official called on the population to “comply with the instructions of the Home Front Command and the official statements of the IDF spokesman on this matter.”

Hagari announced that he would GPS signal problems due to military use to intercept these drones.

He recalled that warning sirens will only sound if drones enter Israeli airspace in the affected regions.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed this Saturday that Israel is “prepared for any scenario” of a direct Iranian attack and warned that there will be a response.
